Terms & Conditions
Your personal information allows IDC to send you information about the status of your requests and to mail you certificates from Italy and the United States. It is not used beyond the scope of these communications. We respect your privacy and will not release this information to third parties under any circumstances.
IDC is a privately owned company (Currently run as a Non-Profit), unaffiliated with any Italian authority, embassy or consulate. Use of its services does not guarantee that a certificate will be found, nor does it guarantee your eligibility for Italian citizenship. If you are not a citizen of Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the U.K or the U.S., IDC strongly recommends you contact the nearest Italian authority to be sure that acquiring Italian citizenship will not affect the citizenship you currently hold.
IDC will prepare a written request on your behalf using the information you have provided.
This request will be sent to the registry offices of the Italian city or town that you specified or US registry offices.
If we do not receive a timely reply, we will resubmit your request up to 5 additional times.
If we receive the certificate you requested, or if the registrar notifies us that their search was unsuccessful, we will contact you by email immediately to confirm your mailing address.
The response time varies from city to city (over 8,000 in Italy), but in most cases, we receive requested certificates within 6-8 weeks.
If there is no reply from Italy/United States within 16 weeks, and you would like us to resubmit your request, you will need to place a new order.
LIMITATIONS OF SERVICE:
We contact the Italian/American officials and submit the information you have provided us. We do not produce the certificates. If there are mistakes in the information you send, the registrar's search will most likely be unsuccessful. In rare cases, certificates have been lost or destroyed during war, fires or floods and do not exist to be found even with correct information.
In most cities and towns in Italy, the Vital Records Office is very helpful, and we receive polite responses in a timely manner. In rare cases, the Italian officials can be EXTREMELY slow in responding to our requests. Unfortunately, if they do not answer our letters, phone calls, faxes or emails, the only recourse is to travel to the city or town in question.
REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS:
When we receive your request, we proceed an open line of communication with you and construct a quote for your approval. Once you have accepted and paid in full the quote, we proceed in obtaining all documents. Along the way, we expend both time and money on your behalf. We do understand that customers can make mistakes, or may change their minds, so for orders less than 24 hours old, cancellations will result in a full refund minus non-reinbursable payments made on our customers behalf. Some Documents might not be retrievable from the requested county and will be marked as no records to the Italian Consulate. We will refund you the amount paid for that document, minus county charges. For Translations, please allow 8-10 weeks for entire order. Documents from NY and CA require additional signatures and certifications in order to be authenticated for Apostille. This will require more time for delivery on these documents and a higher cost on those specific documents.
If we have not received payment for your request , it will not be processed. If you are ready to pay but were unable, please email for assistance.
These terms effective September 22, 2012.
