When applying for Italian Dual Citizenship through Italian Descent, you must obtain certified copies . For example, if your grandparents where both born in italy, then you must obtain their birth certificates. If they were also married in Italy, then you must obtain the marriage certificate as well. All documents must be retireved from the commune in which they were registered in.
Requesting a Vital Record from Italy:
Certified Italian records are at this time not available online and you must contact each individual Commune in order to obtain these documents. You must ensure that you have exact dates, towns and ancestor information in order to retreive these documents.
